c054756a-d3bd-4634-9bfa-3d708f5bd580I’m working on this project at work that is, well, tedious, so I just was waiting every day for Friday to arrive. Josh and I both took off work so we could spend some time checking out Bronx Zoo and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel exhibit at the Paley Center. We ended up having a super fun day though it was very muggy and kind of exhausting traveling all over the city, but we made it work. On the blog, I recapped our recent weekend getaway to Richmond, VA!

Here’s what caught my eye this week!

1. Ten Thousand Doors of January is blowing my mind. I am in love with the characters, settings, plot, all of it! It’s a portal fantasy mainly set in the early 1900s about a young girl who discovers a door that leads to another place. And it gets more complicated and heart-wrenching from there. I won a copy of the e-book through a Goodreads giveaway and hadn’t started reading until now! Why did I wait so long!

2. Started watching Four Weddings and a Funeral on Hulu! Funny and cute! Good antidote to the news cycle. Plus, the actress who plays Missandei from Game of Thrones is in it!

3. This article feels like a punch in the gut. It’s amazing to me how the repercussions of slavery have impacted policy that is still in place today. The article was written as part of NY Times 1619 Project in memory of 400 years since slavery began.

4. I love my local library and I love The Financial Diet. Literally, I have all the apps and a Brooklyn Public Library website on my favorites bar on my desktop. Libraries are the best! Watch the video below to find out what you can borrow from your local library that is more than books!

5. Bless this garlic cat

Have a good week! ♥
