Tying something new for the blog! I recently ordered a bunch of clothes from my favorite online store, ModCloth, and I thought I could do a little try on to show you why I love them so much! I set up a self-timer during a heat wave and did a little fashion show! Here are the results!

1. Community Brunch Shirt Dress – Size L
I was in love with this print and cut immediately upon seeing this on the website! It’s a bit tight through the bust (I’m only a C cup), but does not have any gaping. The skirt hits at the knee. The overall silhouette is an hourglass. I styled the belt that was included by tying it in the back with a bow. I can imagine myself wearing this to work or something business casual.
2. Quite Clearly Charismatic Midi Dress – Size L
All I know when I got this was that I loved the buttons and the print, but I didn’t exactly consider the length. It looks so well put together on the model, but I’m only 5’7″ and I feel like it hits at a weird length. Also, I used the belt from the Tiger Lilies skirt (below) to keep in the waist because the cut of the dress didn’t hit at my natural waist. I might style it in the fall with a thin t-shirt and ankle boots. Also, I’m not a fan of the under skirt layer since its hot out now and that add unnecessary insulation–I still plan on wearing it this summer! I also want to dress this up a bit because I think it could be fun for a bridal shower or some sort of outdoorsy garden activity.
3. Stargazer Sweatshirt – Size XL | Full STEM Ahead Crossbody Bag
I am a sucker for all things cat print! I have a black cat named Jada (my love) and I knew I had to have this in honor of her. I brought it to see a movie since theaters are known to blast the AC, and I know this will come in handy in the fall! (You are welcome for wearing a sweatshirt in the middle of a heat wave!) Material is pretty thin and the upper arm sleeves are tight, even though I sized up from my normal size(!), but manageable. Styled with this cute teal bag. I needed a mid-size purse and this was a good option for summer or fall.
4. Ikebana For All A-Line Skirt – Size L | Give Them Something to Toggle Bout Bag
What gorgeous fabric! It’s silk-like and has a full skirt that goes past my knees. IT HAS POCKETS! I can see myself wearing this for something a bit more formal, like a wedding or other celebration. When I tried it on I thought immediately that it was “church clothes,” though I haven’t been to church in years. Very comfortable and feels luxurious. Styled with this small brown crossbody for a more casual look.
5. Tiger Lilies Midi Skirt – Size L
This is my third “Tiger Lilies” skirt! I also have it in navy and yellow! It’s fun to punch up an outfit with bold colors and I really love how the red looks in natural light, brighter than the picture online would have you believe. Super cute and comfortable, it has an elastic waist, so its very forgiving. I usually don’t wear a belt with it, but might style it on occasion. I didn’t really think red would be a “summer color”—did I pull it off with the styling? (The hot air balloon tank is also from ModCloth, but it’s old.)
6. The Geena Bikini Top and Bottoms – Size L
I haven’t worn a two piece in so long! And even when I had previously bought two pieces, I was always buying tankinis. I’m embracing the high-waist bottoms trend and owning a bikini dammit! I think I could’ve probably sized down in the top, but the large makes me feel like my breasts are secure and the top won’t fly off if I’m in the ocean!
7. Pamela One-Piece Swimsuit – Size L
Can I va-va-voom myself? Because, hello! Speaking of boobs flying everywhere, there is definitely a risk for that, but one I am willing to take while wearing this. The back has a strap so at least the suit stays tight as your moving around. Definitely more for lounging around, rather than some sort of athletic activity type of suit.
Thanks for coming along with me with this try-on! I had a lot of fun doing this so I’d definitely consider some semi-annual ModCloth hauls in the future. 🙂
