When the craving strikes, it’s time to act!
Ingredients for this are pretty simple, as are my tastes. I didn’t bother to make a dipping sauce, but there are plenty of websites who can provide instructions for that as well. I followed this recipe I found on Pinterest.
- Wonton wraps, found in most refrigerated sections, near the tofu.
- 8oz of cream cheese, in block form
- olive oil to brush on the wontons
- 1 egg
Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 400F, grease a baking sheet or use parchment paper on the surface of the baking sheet.
Step 3: Prep an egg wash (1 egg + a bit of water, whisked until foamy) and dip your fingers in the wash then bring the corners of the wrap together.
Step 4: Brush olive oil on all sides of wraps, or using olive oil cooking spray.
Step 5: Bake for 10-15 mins until edges are golden brown. Serve right away, they are better when warm!
I had enough cream cheese to make a total of 20 wontons, though my first batch was only eight pieces (If you’re counting, I ate one of the wontons before photographing them :P). Very simple and easy to make appetizer or snack! I had wraps left over from the package so I need to figure out what to do with them!
